This is a very helpful idea! Sometimes I get the characters mixed up because they all seem to talk alike and this chart reminds me who is who! (Laura)

NAMES	DESCRIPTIONS
Huck Finn	Main Character; runs away from society with Jim, the runaway slave of Ms. Watson; voice of innocence in The A. of Huckleberry Finn.
Pap	Huck's father; beats Huck; drunkard and spends most of his and Huck's money and whiskey; kidnaps Huck(pic Hayden)
Jim	Miss Watson's runaway slave; left with Huck on a raft; fatherly voice in The A. of Huckleberry FInn.(pic Hayden)
Widow Douglass	The lady who takes in Huckleberry Finn as a son after his father left; she wants Huck to learn and become a good boy.
Judge Thatcher	Old judge who puts Huck's money into savings; "buys" Huck's money for a dollar.(pic Hayden)
Tom Sawyer	Huck's "accomplice"; found $12,000 with Huck; creates a band of robbers for all the kids; is frequently referred to by Huck and seems as a person that Huck looks up to.
Miss Watson	Widow Duglass's friend (correct me if I'm wrong); owns Jim; tries to teach Huck manners (Caron)-from top of descriptions(pic Hayden)
Joe Harper	Huck and Tom Sawyer's gang members/childhood friends (Ellie A.)
Ben Rogers	Huck and Tom Sawyer's gang members/childhood friends. Little boy who falls asleep (Ellie A.)
Mrs. Judith Loftus	woman who lives in St. Petersburg, Huck dresses as a girl and goes into her house to get information on the town and his "murder". She can tell right away that Huck is a boy and believes he is a runnaway apprentiece. Her husband plans on investigating for Jim on Jackson's Island. Also Mrs. Loftus gives Huck some food as a snack for his journey. (Meghan)
Jim Turner	Is the man in the wrecked steamboat that is part of a group of robbers who is being murdered. We know he has killed another memeber of the group and he is pleading with the other two men for his life. (Elisabeth Webster)

Aunt Polly (Michelle	Tom Sawyer's aunt (Michelle) Sally Phelps' sister and she is the one who identifies Huck and Tom at the end of the book (Kati)
Grangerfords	A wealthy family that houses Huck after he and Jim get seperated.
Shepherdsons	A rival wealthy family to the Grangerfords (both familes seem to carry guns wherever they go, even to church)
Buck Grangerford (Emily Brown)	A 12-13 year old Grangerford boy who Huck befriends while staying with Buck's family. ends up being shot because of the feud (Kati)(pic Hayden)
Emmeline Grangerford (Emily Brown)	Emmeline was a Grangerford daughter who died at fifteen (presumably from being sickly). She collected obituaries and wrote poetry for the deceased which she called 'tributes.' She also drew pictures (most with scenes involving death), which the Grangerfords have put on the walls.
Harney Sheperdson (Emily Brown	Harney is a Sheperdson who Huck and Buck meet on the road. Harney spots the boys and chases them, but turns around and heads back to pick up his hat (Buck had shot it off his head). Harney later elopes with Miss Sophia (A Grangerford daughter).
The Duke (Emily Brown)	Comes aboard Huck and Jim's raft. About thirty, claims to be the eldest son of the Duke of Bridgewater and his rightful heir. Speaks in a sappy eloquent sort of way, and is called "Your Grace" and other titles by Huck and Jim.
The King (Caron)	Pretends to be a grandson of France's King Louis XVI. Huck and Jim shower him with titles. He goes to Parkville and collect $87.75 from the residents there.
Miss Sophia (Caron)	Grangerford family member. Runs off to marry Harney Sheperdson and causes almost all the people to die. (Caron)
Boggs (Jennifer)	comes into town drunk and threatens Colonel Sherburn; is shot twice
Colonel Sherburn (Jennifer)	is threatened by Boggs; gives him until one o'clock to leave; he shoots Boggs twice; he sends away the townspeople who want to kill him later that night
George Jaxon (Tony)	The false name Huck uses when he lives with the Grangerford's. this is how Buck spelled it, when Huck forgot it (Kati)
Mary Jane (Kristin)	One of Peter Wilks' daughters. She believes in the Duke and the King. Huck likes her the best, and tells her the truth about how the Duke and King are stealing the money.
Peter Wilks (Kristin)	The dead man, the Duke and the King pretend to be his brothers. He also has three daughters. (Also, Huck hids the money in his coffin, which then gets burried, Meghan C)
Susan Wilks	Daughter of the late Peter Wilks, sister to Mary Jane and Joanna. (alex j)
Joanna (hare-lip) Wilks	Daughter of the late Peter Wilks, sister to Mary Jane and Susan. Known as hare-lip. (alex j)
Dr. Robinson	The only person who saw through the King and the Duke's scam. (alex j)
Harvey Wilks	Peter Wilks and William Wilks' brother, uncle to Mary Jane, Susan, and Joanna. (alex j)
William Wilks	Peter and Harvey Wilks' brother who is deaf and 'dumb'. Uncle to Mary Jane, Susan, and Joanna. (alex j)
Aunt Sally Phelps	Tom Sawyer's aunt; Uncle Silas' wife (Lizzie)
Uncle Silas Phelps	Tom Sawyer's uncle; Aunt Sally's husband; Jim is being kept on his property (Lizzie)
The Doctor (Caron)	The doctor who saves Tom Sawyer and returns him to Aunt Sally's house, along with Jim.
Tom Sawyer II (Caron)	Huck pretends to be Tom Sawyer. (Caron)
